Captain Freeman Memorial Run to Offer Virtual Feature

Captain Freeman Memorial Run to Offer Virtual Feature

Submitted by: Georgia Game Changers Running Co.

Game Changers & the Matthew Freeman Project have decided to add a new and awesome feature to the 8th Annual Captain Matthew Freeman Memorial Run. We are hoping that this will allow people from all over the globe who knew and loved Matthew, or those who have lost or have connections to a Military Veteran, to run in honor of them.

The race will now include a VIRTUAL run option!

Here is how it works:

Register online at www.savanahhraces.com for the Captain Freeman Memorial 5k Run which is set in Richmond Hill, GA at J.F. Gregory Park at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, November 10th. We would love to have you join us locally if you are anywhere in the coastal Georgia area! We would also love if you stayed to honor local veterans at the Richmond Hill Veterans’ Day Ceremony at 11am, also at JF Gregory Park.

If you choose to register for the VIRTUAL option, you can run ANY distance on Veteran’s Day weekend: Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Upon registering, you will receive:

*a Captain Matthew Freeman t-shirt

*a Commemorative Captain Freeman Dog Tag participant medal

*a certificate of completion

We would then ask that you share your photos, stories and memories on a special Facebook page that will be set up specifically for the race.

The race registration will be $30 for either option, and there will be a small shipping charge added to those who choose to run the VIRTUAL option.

Packet pick-up for those running locally (even those running virtually but on Saturday or Sunday) will be on November 9th at Georgia Game Changers Running Company.

The race proceeds will go to the Matthew Freeman Project which benefits Gold Star Family members through their Bear Project and their Gold Star Sibling Scholarship Program.
