Ogeechee Riverkeeper recently announced plans for its second annual Oyster Roast fundraiser, in partnership with Fish Tales at Fort McAllister Marina. This event, slated for 5-9 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 25, will festively kick off ORK’s 2018 fundraising efforts at Fish Tales, 3203 Fort McAllister Road in Richmond Hill.
Local musician Jason Courtenay will provide entertainment as guests enjoy a stunning view of the historic Ogeechee River while dining on local and domestic oysters, as well as an array of “landlubbers’” (non-seafood) fare. Beer will be provided by Southern Eagle Distributing, and prizes will be raffled off throughout the evening. Fish Tales will display an old-fashioned oyster steamer for demonstrations.
Proceeds raised from this exciting event will go toward the Ogeechee Riverkeeper’s mission to protect, preserve, and improve the water quality of the Ogeechee River basin. Fish Tales is at the end of the waterway’s seven-mile bend, just a few miles from the Intercoastal Waterway and Ossabaw Sound, and a 12-minute boat ride from Coffee Bluff in Savannah.
“I am truly looking forward to kicking-off the new year with Fish Tales and our supporters in the Richmond Hill and Savannah community,” said Ogeechee Riverkeeper Simona Perry. “We hope everyone will come enjoy delicious oysters with us while overlooking the beautiful river which will benefit from this fun event.”
Tickets to this event include all-you-can-eat oysters, along with non-seafood items, two beer or wine drink tickets, and entertainment.
