Unity in the Community’s Article for April 2017

A community is not an entity of its own.  The owner and employees of Plantation Lumber understand that idea.  Unity in the Community recently awarded a certificate of appreciation to Kevin Keith of Plantation Lumber for his continued work with the organization.  Their support began with the early festivals that Unity in the Community hosted in J. F. Gregory Park, five years ago.  Now, they supply Unity in the Community with tables and chairs for their events every third Saturday and Sunday on Rousakis Plaza, River Street in Savannah.

But their level of community support does not stop there.  They help the Boy Scouts and other nonprofit organizations.  “We just like to help the community,” Keith said.  “We give to the community and the community gives back to us.”  That ideology speaks directly to the principles of unity and community.

Unity in the Community’s events are free and open to the public.  You are invited to River Street on April 15-16, 2017 for the opening of the season of our 3rd Annual free, family, fun events.  Every third Saturday, come out and visit with our arts and crafts vendors and enjoy the live entertainment, Saturdays from 11:00am – 10:00pm and on Sundays from11:00am-6:00pm, relax and in addition to the sometimes live entertainment, enjoy the Motown sound played by Mr. Brown.  Unity in the Community is a nonprofit, 501c3 organization.  www.unityinthecommunity@unityinthecommunity.org
